Business Career Achievement Course

This three credit business course, BUS 3541, is intended to provide students who are about to begin their job or internship search with an intensive review of all the skills necessary for success.

Course Objectives

  • Demonstrate the ability to utilize specific resources to research career options
  • Understand the skills required for preferred career path and how to identify and research target companies
  • Establish personal connections with professionals in targeted industry
  • Build personal toolbox of accounts, documents and networks to support internship and career search
  • Demonstrate effective interviewing skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to respond to an internship or career opportunity in a professional manner
  • Understand the value of networking contacts and demonstrate an ability to interact with and utilize those contacts in internship and career search
  • Ability to effectively assess a job offer and negotiate an appropriate salary package
